Minecraft Creator Rejects NFTs, Saying that they Create Scenarios with ''haves and Nots''

In a blog post on Wednesday Mojang stated that NFTs don''t match Minecraft''s values and therefore aren''t allowed in the game.

"The speculation about pricing and investment mindset that surrounds NFTs takes the focus away from playing the game and encourages profiteering which we think is inconsistent with the long-term joy and success of our players," the company said.

"To ensure that Minecraft players enjoy a safe and inclusive experience, blockchain technologies are not allowed to be integrated into our Minecraft client and server applications or used to create NFTs that are associated with any in-game content," the company said.

NFTs are a particularly contentious topic among gamers who''ve pushed back on initiatives from Ubisoft and other publishers that seek to incorporate the technology into their games.
