Minecraft''s Big Wilderness Update Arrives June 7th

It took several months, but Minecraft''s The Wild Update is nearly here. Mojang and Microsoft have announced the release of The Wild across all platforms on June 7 and it''s just as vast as they promised. Two biomes are now available in The Wild game including a mangrove swamp as well as the "deep darkness" that hides vicious mobs such as Warden and Shrieker and other special resources. You can also make use of a chest to sail on a boat, meaning you don''t need to carry your supplies when you cross the lake.

The upgrade also adds a mud block (made with dirt and water naturally), a crowd-voted item collector mob (the allay) and a frog, which develops from Tadpoles. If it attacks magma, it could even cause "froglights".

The debut comes a while after Mojang was forced to reconsider its expansion strategy. The deep dark biome was originally planned to be released in 2021 but was transformed into The Wild as the developer was unable to handle the size of its two-part Caves and Cliffs Update. It''s not unexpected that the Minecraft team is determined to keep its game relevant over a decade after launch, the schedule suggests it might have been a little too eager to please.
