The Minecraft Warden patrols deep caverns and is the only mob with a blind face in Minecraft. So, what is it that makes the Warden so frightening? Well, lack of sight does not mean that the Warden is unable to locate you. Instead, the Warden makes use of sound to find players. This means you''ll have to be very clever to avoid confrontation with this new mob. If you''re clever you can throw objects like snowballs to force Wardens to move in an opposite direction. If you''re caught and have no other options, you will need to fight this powerful beast.

Join us as we go through everything Mojang has to say about one of the most bizarre Minecraft mobs in the game including its damage output and health pool, to its movements characteristics and the location of its spawn.

Minecraft Warden spawn

Wardens are found in the Deep Dark biome. This means that you will need to travel a long distance on a cavern expedition to find this mob. Wardens have unique spawn requirements. If the light level is lower than 11 and there''s not any other Wardens nearby the Warden will rise from the ground when an individual activates the Sculk Shriner three times.

If a Warden enters daylight or a room with high light levels, it will instantly disappear for good. It will also burrow itself after one minute of losing track of you.

How to avoid being a Minecraft Warden

Wardens move around and respond to the sounds they hear by skulking. Lights will flicker whenever they pass. Warden is passing due to the darkness debuff it emits. If you are near a Warden your vision is also affected by the darkness.

If you do decide to sneak around the Warden will not notice you so long as you remain still and don''t make any sound. To keep the Warden from being distracted, throw snowballs. He''ll eventually slip by.

If you alert a Warden to your presence by making too much noise or being too close or by announcing a shriek, it grows more and more agitated, before it breaks into a fit of rage and starts to pursue you. There are three options available: run away, fight it or to throw it off its tracks.

Wardens can outrun athletes running at full speed. If you plan to run it, make sure you have a clear route and enough stamina. Be aware: hazards such as water won''t slow it down and it''s not susceptible to damage and knockback effects from both lava and fire.

There are a few things you can do to get rid of the Warden. The first is that it could be provoked by other Warden mobs that attack them instead of moving around. You can also confuse it by throwing projectiles at it or activating a minecart, allowing you to escape.

How to beat a Minecraft Warden

A Warden has a colossal 250 hearts. This health pool, when combined with its high attack stat is what makes them the most powerful of all naturally-spawning Minecraft mobs. Here are the Warden’s stats, which depend on your difficulty level.

- Easy: 8 hearts per hit - Normal: 15 hearts per hit - Hard: 22.5 hearts per hit

It is able to disable Minecraft shields temporarily and has a vertical reach of up four blocks. So if you are playing on hard mode, it can instantly kill you with a single punch, even if you are wearing full Netherite armour.
