Our Partnership With Minecraft

To draw attention to the devastation of mangroves as well as the significant benefits they bring, Minecraft created Rooted Together, an interactive map where players can explore a mangrove-based ecosystem in-game.

The game lets players plant mangroves, monitor CO2 levels and discover new wildlife. It''s an interactive demonstration of how climate trends, biodiversity, and changes in climate are impacted by the mangrove habitat''s health. The more mangroves that players plant the less likely climate change and the more animals can return to their homes.

TNC Conservation Support

In addition to the in-game interaction with mangrove ecosystems, Mojang Studios will be contributing $200,000 to TNC to support our mission. In July, Minecraft creators hosted their own charity streams, which reached more than 350,000 live viewers and 33,500 on video-on-demand. The creators played Minecraft live and educated viewers about the importance of mangroves around the world and also presented some of the TNC''s efforts to save and restore this important ecosystem.
