Minecraft Maker''s Newest Game Blends Cliffs, Horses And Dogecoin

Markus "Notch" Persson is mostly known as the creator behind Minecraft However, he''s rapidly becoming famous for his eccentric games that include everything from speed typing to existential drama. If you''re unsure that he''s the man to beat, just check out his latest game, Cliffhorse. It''s absurd and, as the title suggests, it''s absurd. You play a horse pushing a giant rock ball across cliffs. The point is not the minimal design, which took only two hours to create. Persson described the game for Windows only as a slam against developers who abuse early access programs. He charges money for "minimum work" releases which are, theoretically speaking, the most valuable. He is aware of the irony, given that he paid for Minecraft long before it was finished.

In case the absurdity of the project wasn''t clear, Notch is only accepting voluntary Dogecoin donations for payment; you can download Cliffhorse completely free of charge, if you like. It''s a good thing that there''s no profit-based model since there aren''t guarantees of future updates. You might not be a fan of Persson''s parody enough to send his virtual currency. But, the launch might be beneficial if it convinces some developers to do some more effort before asking gamers to pay up.
