Where Is The New Minecraft Launcher Exe Located

Windows apps shortcuts don''t involve the .exe.

Option 1

Start > Settings > Personalization> Start > Enable "Show app list on Start menu"

Once enabled, your menu will include an app list to the left side of your start menu (Picture).

Scroll down to Minecraft Launcher and drag the icon to the desktop.

Option 2

An alternate method to create a short for new Minecraft Launcher

Press Windows key + R

Enter shell:AppsFolder by typing in

Find the new Minecraft Launcher

Right click to create a shortcut

Does this mean that it''s not possible to add Minecraft, a non-steam video game, to my Steam library? Trying to make it work with my xbox controller and thats the main method I''ve seen people suggest but as far as I''ve been able to tell I need to select the minecraftlauncher.exe to add it to my library and that doesn''t seem to exist anymore.

It was much easier than I expected. Many thanks!

That first one worked great! I couldn''t figure it out either for my forza.

It''s a great idea!

"Don''t have permission to open this file" I''ve tried everything and tried to give permission. Any way to override it to use a controller on Java edition?

This is a tremendous help. Wzjxzz However I am experiencing the OpenGL 1282 error. I cannot find the location of the required file.

I tried the great advice of several users in this thread, but to no avail. Steam can''t run the new launcher no matter what I do. I may not be an expert, but Java MC doesn''t have controller support. We deserve more than a workaround.
