Shaders can be used to make Minecraft''s environment more realistic. It might look a bit heavy on the computer but you can adjust the shaders according to your computer specifications to get the same experience.

Let''s start by asking why shaders should be used. These are two examples. The left side has no shaders, while the right side has the shaders that we will use in this demonstration.
Installation Guide
OptiFine Installation
1. Shaders can only be used with OptiFine. You should check the Minecraft: Java Edition that you are using. To figure this out, launch up the Minecraft Launcher and look at the bottom left next to the ''PLAY'' button. In this demonstration we are using the 1.16.3 edition.
2. Head over to https://optifine.net/downloads To view more versions, click on ''Show all versions''. We will be using Minecraft Optimize 1.16.3 HD U G4 as our current stable version. Click (Mirror), and then Download''.
Clicking (Mirror>'' instead Download> is because it skips an URL shortener that has been infested and infested, with ads that we don’t want to see.
If an ad is presented, DO NOT click on it. The buttons you should only click on are those shown in the following images.
Your browser/antivirus may not allow the file download. This message will appear if you are using Google Chrome browser. This message is due to executable.jar file that can be used in order to execute viruses. Optifine is safe to use, provided you are downloading it from the official website. Click ''Keep'' to finalize the download.
3. Run the ''OptiFine_1.16.3_HD_U_G4.jar'' file by double-clicking it.
4. The default folder should be where your Minecraft is located and it finds it automatically so we do not have an extra step. If it doesn''t find it, click the ''...'' to locate it. To continue, click on ''Install''.

5. If your Minecraft Launcher is previously open from Step 1 exit it and launch it again.
You will see that an additional option, called OptiFine has been added to the list. This replaces the previous release. Click on the dropdown menu to select the OptiFine version featuring their logo.
6. Click ''PLAY'' and wait for Minecraft to launch.
How to Get Shaders and Install them
1. The go-to website for legitimate shaders is through CurseForge located here: https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/customization.
There are many shaders available. You can experiment with which shaders you like best. For this example we will be using BSL Shaders located here: https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/customization/bsl-shaders
2. Click "Download" and it will download automatically after 5 seconds.
3. Go back to Minecraft that was loaded previously on step 6 of the OptiFine installation section and click ''Options...''
Click here to go to ''Video Settings ...''
Then we will click on ''Shaders...''
Finally, click on the ''Shaders Folder’ to be directed the the folder in which we will install the shader.
4. With the shader folder open, we will drag the shader we previously downloaded into the folder.
5. Now, go back to Minecraft and you will see that your shader has been successfully installed. To use it, click on the last step.
Congratulations! Congratulations! You have successfully installed your first shaders. After the shaders are successfully loaded, return to your main screen to load a world and/or join a multiplayer game server.
