Minecraft now has a demo. Procrastinating excavators, you no longer have an excuse not to play our favorite open-world game. Even better, it has branded cows Notch created for us. These animals are programmed to feel like voodoo cattles. When you punch them, each PC Gamer editor experiences a mild thud in the chest. Be gentle.

Minecraft is a customizable tool. First, create a personal skin. If you''re lazy you can download one if our favourite custom skins.

Next, install some Minecraft Mods. Minecraft is already vast, but why not add airships or muskets to the mix? It''s almost guaranteed to have fun.

The demo is generous. Each tool, mineral and item can be found. You can dig and frolic in your new world for 90 minutes, before it "locks" to make it uneditable.
