Minecraft has been around for quite a while now, and its popularity is constantly growing however, since its official launch on the 18th of November 2011 more and more servers have grown, died, and been forgotten. The Novylen Minecraft Server located in Canada is the official name of oldest Minecraft Server ever built, on April 9th the year 2010, four months ahead of the previous owner, MinecraftOnline. However, if you read before you''ll notice that MinecraftOnline was released the same day multiplayer was first created and how was Novylen established earlier than this?

While the server was introduced the day after Minecraft Multiplayer''s release The map was made far earlier, as rbos, the owner, originally played the map on his singleplayer world back in the Minecraft InfDev period (specifically InfDev 20100413), 4 months before the release of Minecraft Multiplayer. The server has never been reset. This means that a user could have hopped onto the server over 10 years ago, built something, and then gone forever with their creation as the only evidence of their existence. Novylen is much less well-known than 2b2t. This means it hasn’t been subject to the same fate as many other griefs, exploits hackers, glitches, and other. A lot of the original designs from 2010 are still in use in the present.

Nerd.nu was launched for the first time on June 10, 2009, only three days after Minecraft''s unofficial Multiplayer release Version 0.0.16a. Survival mode was not an option in Minecraft at the time. As you can see from the image above, a variety of creations from various eras of Minecraft have been created on Nerd.nu. The server has had many different gamemodes added over the years The most popular and oldest is the ''Creative'' one, where players have no health bar, can fly, and can build whatever they want with their imagination.

Although the server was created in the early stages however, some believe that MinecraftOnline is much older than it. This is due to the fact that the map has been reset many times over the years, so it''s not the same as it was 20 years ago. Nerd.nu''s Creative gamemode is currently on it''s 36th revision, meaning it was reset 35 times.

MinecraftOnline was first launched on August 4th, 2010 and has since enjoyed the title of being the longest-running server in Minecraft''s history because it was launched within an hour of Notch releasing survival multiplayer mode. Since this time, incredibly the server has remained in operation and hasn''t been reset once. It doesn''t look like the cobblestone conglomerate 2b2t has created.

It''s amazing that MinecraftOnline has had a staff team since it''s inception, and unlike 2b2t, MinecraftOnline has rules that players must adhere to. It''s not always clear that players adhere to the rules however during the 12 years that it has been operating, more than 43,000 players have been exiled. 2b2t is among the most well-known Minecraft servers. 2b2t was established in December of 2010. It is known for being an anarchy server. This means that there are thousands of players who use the hacked client software, and an absence of friendliness. This creates the server''s distinctive, beat-up appearance. The thing that the server is most well-known for, however, is it''s map, which, since it''s creation has never been reset. This means that many players have come and gone throughout the years, leaving their marks on the server for all time.

2b2t was a constant stream of players during its beginning days. Through the years, it fluctuated between 10-80. In June 2016, however, this changed when TheCampingRusher uploaded his very first video. Since then, numerous other YouTubers have uploaded videos to the server, bringing 2b2t its popularity to the forefront of today''s media. In 2022, the server reaches over 1000 players in the peak hours, and it doesn''t seem like it will be diminishing anytime soon.

These servers are not the only servers dating back to 2011, however other servers are as well. Servers haven''t all been around for this long.
