Minecraft Sells 12 Million Units On Xbox 360

Mojang''s sandbox builder Minecraft remains a favorite on the Xbox 360, surpassing 12 million units sold by this month.

"It is amazing!" Mojang''s Daniel Kaplan said in response to the new milestone in sales. MINECRAFT "I can recall when we first began discussing sales numbers that we''d be delighted to sell 1,000,000 copies. This would put us on par with Battlefield 1943 and Castle Crashers, which both are awesome games and so it was something to strive for. We never imagined selling 12,000,000!

In December 2012, Minecraft sold over 10 million copies. Mojang and 4J Studios, the development partner, will continue updating Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition in the coming months, with new content. This includes a Candy Texture Pack which will launch on April 18.
