WRUP: Come On, Man, It Is The ''90s

Every week, simply in the beginning of the weekend, we catch up with the WoW Insider employees and ask them, "What are you enjoying this week?" -- in any other case often called: WRUP. Be part of us to see what we''re up to in and out of sport, and catch us in the feedback to let us know what you''re playing, too!

Going to BlizzCon? No? Why not? It''s the ''90s! Everyone''s going to conventions as of late!

Certain, it''s in Southern California, and for lots of you, that''s a long way from home. However man, this is the ''90s. They''ve planes now. And Minecraft Kitpvp Servers of those planes even have air phones. You can hook up your 14.4k modem to a type of and hook up with your favourite Warcraft 2 BBS, possibly play a little bit Legend of the Red Dragon from 20,000 toes. Why not? It''s the ''90s!

What''s that? You say it''s not the ''90s -- it''s 2011? Properly, in fact it''s! I know precisely what today is. See this Casio digital watch on my wrist? It has the day, week, month, and 12 months on it. Everyone''s obtained one -- everybody, that''s, who''s living in the ''90s.

BlizzCon, the most well liked event of the ''90s, is coming up in a mere two weeks. So right this moment, in addition to the standard question of "What are you enjoying?" (Tremendous Nintendo and Scattergories, obvi), I had our prime-notch writers (lots of whom have Tripod pages) answer a bonus question: "What terrific recommendation do you will have for the go-go BlizzCon attending of us of the ''90s?"

Anne Stickney (@Shadesogrey) This weekend will probably be spent ending my entry for the worldwide Writing Contest -- in different words, writing like a madwoman.

As for BlizzCon -- be certain that you might have loads of water alongside, the convention hall is greater than it seems! Present up for panels early, verify the occasions schedule and figure out what you need to hit in advance. Also -- comfy shoes. Severely, you may be in your ft just about all day long. Comfy shoes are the most effective!

Allison Robert (@AllisonRobert) I''ll be going to a different wedding ceremony this weekend but will otherwise be on the PTR getting notes for an upcoming Shifting on tanking and healing the three new 5-mans.

As for BlizzCon, I''ve yet to go, but when I had to guess from previous experiences with tutorial conferences and the like, have just one bit of recommendation: Don''t put on heels.

Alex Ziebart (@AlexZiebart) (gplus.to/alexziebart) Been enjoying some Useless Island and hopefully will get a hefty amount of co-op time in with a buddy of mine. Good coop games are way more uncommon than they ought to be.

For BlizzCon, take extra shirts than you think you will need. If you get tremendous-sweaty, stop into your hotel room and change shirts. It''s better than being smelly and uncomfortable all day.

Chase Hasbrouck First WRUP /yay. Persevering with my feral soloing in undertaking in WoW (when Kuwaiti latency permits), else enjoying SpaceChem on Steam. All the fun of programming without the code!

BlizzCon: by no means been, but expertise has taught me at all times to comply with the 3 W''s when traveling: water, weight, and walking (comfortably).

Daniel Desmond (@hazmacewillraid) I will be doing a little bit of PTR spelunking, attempting out the new dungeons and paladin changes, however largely I will be scratching a number of more tallies into my wall with a plastic spoon, counting the days until Skyrim releases.

As for BlizzCon, this shall be my first! As such, I''ll be sticking to my guildmates like black leather-based seats on a hot summer day.

Daniel Whitcomb (@DanielWhitcomb) Since my mage and warrior are on hold until the 4.3 goes stay, I might see if I can solo me some extra tier 5 for my warlock. I am also enjoying some Aquaria and Bastion (again) on Steam, so I could do some more with those games.

My recommendation? Hygiene. Specifically, double-, triple-, and quadruple-examine your journey bag. If you happen to miss one thing like a toothbrush or a shaving package, chances are high you''re going to should pay an arm and a leg to substitute it.

Dawn Moore (@dawnwow) Not playing something this weekend, but I''ll be watching plenty of StarCraft 2 and League of Legends at IPL3.

Advice for BlizzCon? Hmm ... Waiting within the badge decide-up line isn''t necessary if you do not have to be the first one into opening ceremonies. Simply choose up your badge whereas everyone seems to be in line for the ceremonies and you will be in and out in 5 minutes.

Elizabeth Wachowski (@leeatwaterlives) I''m still on my honeymoon in NYC, but when i get again I am going to probably start AC: Brotherhood, since my AC2 disc is scratched and I don''t think I can end.

Fox Van Allen (@foxvanallen) (gplus.to/foxvanallen) I''ve been in Philly for a solid part of the week, and I will be staying in Philly throughout the weekend hanging with my buddy Chester. All types of fun will probably be had. Like right now, I ate Dutch food. We are a terribly boring folks, we Dutch.

My BlizzCon advice: If you wish to cling out with Fox, I counsel you get your request in forward of time, as a result of there are a lot of you, only a few nights in lovely Southern California, and just one Fox. Additional, I advise anybody who is not from an area with Jack in the Field eating places to go eat at a Jack in the Box restaurant. Oh my god.

Joe Perez (@Lodurzj) More LoL, I''ve a new champion to learn! Additionally more alt leveling in WoW and really looking forward to another select my journey day Sunday; I''ll in all probability start earlier (3 p.m.) this week and go till 5. I''ll also be livestreaming the adventure, so make certain to look at Twitter for the link and time!

Greatest BlizzCon blunder: not wearing comfortable and supportive sneakers. Severely, you stand and walk so much that you''re a fool if you do not. Additionally, the amount of pain your ft will probably be in will likely be shocking. Also, drink / convey a lot of water and try to eat outdoors of the convention middle. Lots of good native locations to nom issues at which might be a quick walk from the convention middle.

Josh Myers (@Elamqt) I am liking my military of premade and predominant-transferred shaman on the PTR. I even have a lone mage premade who was set up with spec/glyphs/keybinds/and so forth. and then promptly forgotten.

I have no BlizzCon recommendation, although I caution all Wow Insider meetup attendees to avoid eye contact with Fox. That is just widespread sense, although.

(Wonderful level. This is how I choose my prey. -- Fox)

Kelly Aarons (@Cadistra) Hoping for some quality time with my DS, however I''m not sure, as I''ll be working at my job, doing art, and it is Thanksgiving up right here in Canada-land, so there''s that. I will be heading out of city Sunday night time to see my family.

BlizzCon advice? Take the well being-verify:

Bring plenty of water with you.

Wear comfy shoes (with insoles if necessary). Remember to stretch your decrease back every hour or so!

Deliver some protein-wealthy snacks with you -- pure meals bars, dry-roasted nuts (like almonds and cashews). Con food is overpriced and full of crap, and this can keep you fuller longer. /well being nerd

Mat McCurley (@gomatgo) (gplus.to/gomatgo) I am a broken report. League of Legends and WoW.

Ideas for BlizzCon: convey a bottle of water if you can, take issues gradual, put on comfy footwear, and purchase Mat McCurley drinks on the WoW Insider Reader Meetup.

Matt Low (@matticus) In a change of tempo, taking part in on my Nintendo DS. Replaying some Last Fantasy VI! My faaaaaavourite Ultimate Fantasy sequence -- ever!

Matt Rossi (@matthewrossi) (gplus.to/MatthewWRossi) My hand is absolutely screwed up now, so bad I do not assume I can play much of anything. (I am typing this one-finger, hunt-and-peck style).

As for BlizzCon, I''ve by no means been.

Matt Walsh (@Rhidach) Some Sword of the Stars with some buddies, for (possible) final sport earlier than the sequel comes out. We''ll send the previous lady off in type. I will even be getting some critical Minecraft time in since my guild''s server was down final week. Need to make up for lost time!

This may only be my second BlizzCon, but the biggest thing I picked up final yr is to be really early to something you wish to go to -- panels or no matter. Aside from badge pickup on Thursday night. It is open for hours and badges aren''t limited in the same approach seats or area is. No want to show up early for that line; go later that night and coast proper by means of to pickup.

Michael Gray (@writegray) I''ll be shooting weddings by way of most of the wedding, which is directly thrilling and terrifying. I am not the professional of the crew, so I besides to spend a number of time going "Hurrr ..."
The weekend is the perfect time to kick again, loosen up and take pleasure in some recreation time. Are you an achievement junkie? Can''t get sufficient raiding? Rolling a brand new alt? Considering taking the leap into roleplaying? No matter your favorite technique to play World of Warcraft, tell us within the feedback what you are playing this weekend!
