The Global Takeover Of "Minecraft" Earth Beta Its Launch Date Is This Month

We haven''t seen much talk about Minecraft Earth in a while. It is an augmented reality version Mojang''s game that turns the world into a playground full of your own blocky creations. It promised a beta release of the game would arrive in the summer of this year. Now it''s out, along with a brand new trailer, the company claims it will launch on iOS within two weeks, with Android following "soon afterward."

The iOS-first launch isn''t surprising after we had our first glimpse of live gameplay at WWDC last month. The trailer provides more details about the game. It''s still worth taking a look at the Apple demo to check if you have any questions.

To be among the first players to gain access, you''ll need to sign up for the free game right here (you''ll require a smartphone running at minimum iOS 10 or Android 7 to play, as per the FAQ). Access is being limited as they try to distribute the load on the game''s servers but you''ll need to be active in order to remain in it -- if you don''t play for a period of seven days, then someone else will get your slot. You''ll require an account with Microsoft or Xbox Live account to register and once you''ve signed up , there''s nothing left to do but wait, and then get ready to build.

Think life is good? minecraft news ''s about to get even BETA! The Minecraft Earth closed beta is headed for a few select areas. Register to get your chance to play Minecraft Earth!
