The Novylen Minecraft Server located in Canada has the official title of oldest Minecraft Server ever created on the 9th of April in 2010, four months ahead of the previous holder, MinecraftOnline. But if you read previously, you''d notice that MinecraftOnline was released the day multiplayer was first created which is why Novylen established earlier than this?

Although the server was launched the day of Minecraft Multiplayer''s launch, the map was created way earlier, when the owner, rbos originally played the map on his singleplayer world all the way back in the Minecraft InfDev period (specifically InfDev 20100413), four months prior to the release of Minecraft Multiplayer. In addition the server has not ever been reset, which means that a player could have hopped onto the server over 10 years ago, constructed something, and then left forever and their creation as the only reminder of their existence. Novylen is also far less well-known than 2b2t, which means it hasn''t faced the same fate as 2b2t, which has seen countless hacks, flimsy exploits and griefs. This is why some of the first creations that were released in 2010 still being used today!

Nerd.nu was launched for the first time on June 10, 2009, which was three days after Minecraft''s official Multiplayer release, Version 0.0.16a. Survival mode was not an option in Minecraft at the time. As you can see in the above image, a lot of designs from different eras of Minecraft have been created on Nerd.nu. There have been numerous game modes added to the server over time. The most popular and oldest is the ''Creative'' game mode, which allows players to fly and create whatever they want.

Although the server was created in the beginning there are those who believe that MinecraftOnline is a lot older than it was. This is due to the fact that the map has been reset several times over the years, so it''s not the same that it was ago. The Creative gamemode by Nerd.nu is currently in its 36th revision. It has been reset 35 times prior to that.

MinecraftOnline was launched on the 4th of August on the 4th of August, 2010 and has been running since then. It was created within a matter of minutes of Notch releasing survival mode. Since then, and with astonishment, the server has stayed online and has not been reset once. But why doesn''t it look like the cobblestone sludge that 2b2t is?

It''s amazing that the server has been staffed since its inception. MinecraftOnline also has rules that players must adhere to in contrast to 2b2t. It is known as an ''anarchy server''. motorsnmore means that there are thousands of players playing with the hacked client software, and a lack of friendliness. This creates the server''s distinctive, beaten-up look. The most prominent feature of the server is its map. It hasn''t been reset since it was established. This means that many players have left over time, leaving their marks on the server.

In the beginning, 2b2t had a steady flow of players, varying between 10-80 over the years. In June 2016 however, things changed when TheCampingRusher uploaded his very first video.
