Cryptic Tweet From Minecraft Developer Hints At 1.18 Update Coming Soon

Mojang, a Minecraft developer has announced in October that part two of their massive Caves and Cliffs update would be available in "a month or at most". It appears that it's getting close to the time, as Mikael "slicedlime" Hedberg, the lead tech for Minecraft Java Edition, just tweeted something cryptic:

While it might not sound like much, Mojang employees are well-known for using Twitter to tease new features. Blastermusic.net "preparing" suggests that there will be a second part to Caves and Cliffs.

Pre-releases are typically released a few days to weeks prior to the official launch. They are a step between "snapshots" which serve as a test ground for new features that players could decide to take advantage of as well as the full update. 1.17's last update was released on May 27th. The full update was released on June 8th.

What does this mean? It means that we won't have much time to wait for the 1.18 update that will add amazing new world generation to Minecraft worlds. It could even be released before the end of November!

Mojang also announced during this year's Minecraft Live presentation that the Deep Dark biome and its new mob, The Warden, would be delayed until 2022's update, The Wild.

Are you ready for the upgrade? Have you tried the snapshots? Let us know in the comments!
