Have You Ever Played Minecraft On An M1 Mac?

Anyone played Minecraft on an M1 Mac?

Hey!

When I read the reviews of the new Macs, particularly the MacBook Pro, I''m very inclined to upgrade from my Surface Pro 4 to a Mac. I was a Mac user during the Snow Leopard to Mavericks days. However I changed to Windows a few decades ago.

I have a bunch of programs I use which I''ve seen users say that work perfectly on M1 however do you know whether Minecraft (Java) works on an M1 Mac? It''s one of my favorite games, and I don''t think I could replace my PC with a machine that didn''t run my favourite game. I''m aware that Java exists for ARM however I haven''t heard anybody playing Minecraft on an M! Mac as of yet!

Thanks! (I hope I put it in the correct location!)

Highly recommend it. The M1 Mac will blow your surface out of the water performance wise. It''s only a matter time until Minecraft is optimized for the M1. You can run either version until then. Bedrock (because M1''s are able to natively run apps for iOS and iPadOS), AND Java (translated real-time running Rosetta 2 that is built in. Raunge.com won''t notice a difference).

I''ve side loaded Minecraft to my M1 Mac but keyboard and mouse aren''t working. How did you side load it sir?

Yes

Information from the video: Java does not have an native M1 application, so it has to make use of Rosetta 2 Emulation.

He was comparing the Baseline 7 core GPU MacBook Air to the Baseline8-core GPU MacBook Pro. The MBP created the world (same seeds on both) like a second quicker however the MacBook Air seemed a bit more responsive for some reason (he used the same graphics settings on both).

This comparison has a problem. He left vsync running, so the FPS is limited to 60 FPS. It would have been interesting to see how high it could go.

The iOS, Android, and Windows 10 Minecraft versions all work well together. However the Pocket Edition Realms server will not allow for the PC and Mac versions to play with each one another. You can still play with your friends on Android and an iOS device.
