Java Edition Locks Out Old Accounts In March

In 2020, developers announced a major update for Minecraft: Java Edition. Players will soon have to change their Mojang account to an Microsoft account to continue playing. Although it''s still an incredibly long time to wait, the developers have confirmed the date and released the final request for account migration.

As as of March 10, you''ll no longer be able play Minecraft: Java Edition with an account with a Mojang account. To ensure "improved securityand player safety" the developers are encouraging everyone to switch to Microsoft accounts. They offer free Minecraft caps to encourage users to switch.

You can find all details on how to migrate your account here. https://minecraft-server-hosting.net/ will continue to be supported in the normal way after the change and will continue be a separate entity to Bedrock. This is purely a unification of the account system. You can use your old username. All you need is an Xbox gamertag.
