Try Minecraft Education Edition Free


Anyone can download Minecraft: Education Edition for absolutely no cost! There are two ways to try Minecraft Education Edition at no cost, either via the trial for free or the demo lesson. The free trial requires you to sign up for an account, either an Office 365 Education account or a Microsoft 365 account. The demo lesson doesn't require an account or login. This article will explain how to make use of the demo lesson as well as the free trial.



Technical requirements



Minecraft: Education Edition is compatible with Chromebook, iPad and Mac. To make sure that Minecraft: Education Edition is compatible with your device, go through the System Requirements article.



About the free trial



The trial version is fully functional and includes all the features of the paid version. The trial is compatible with Code Connection and Classroom Mode. For more information on these features, refer to the Get Started With Code Connection and Get Started with Classroom Mode articles.



The trial is restricted by the number of logins (25 for teachers who have an Office 365 Education account and 10 for all other users) before the purchase of a paid subscription is required to continue playing. Trial logins cannot be renewed. Contact our support team right away if you have any questions. Minecraft: Education Edition can be purchased after the trial logins are used.



Start the free trial



Follow these steps if have an Office 365 Education or Microsoft 365 account to avail the trial trial for free.



Select the Minecraft: Education Edition version you want to download from the Get Minecraft download page. Install the version of Minecraft: Education Edition that you downloaded. About the demo lessons



Demo lessons allow you to try Minecraft Education Edition free of charge and without having to sign up. Each demo lesson is limited in functionality: for example the worlds and progress can't be saved, and it's not possible to host or join a multiplayer game. Playing a demo lesson allows you the opportunity to experience a real-world lesson in Minecraft Education Edition. There is no limit on the number of times you play each demo lesson.



Start a demo lesson



These steps will enable you to attend a free lesson.



Select the Minecraft: Education Edition version you want to download from the Get Minecraft download page. 360 degrees all the way around Install the version of Minecraft: Education Edition that you downloaded. Start Minecraft: Education Edition. On the Welcome to Minecraft Education Edition screen, select If you don't have an account, create one. Click View Terms to view the license agreement. When you are ready to play, select Accept Terms and then Play. Select Start Lesson. Note: Lessons that have the lock overlay can be access by logging into the game with an account that is licensed or that is eligible for a trial.
