Minecraft Bedrock And Java Editions To Be Sold Together On PC

Minecraft on PC has traditionally been available to download in two distinct versions known as the Java Edition and the Bedrock Edition. This will change on June 7 , however, when the two versions will be sold together on PCs.

You might be wondering what this means for you. It's just a tiny difference. You can now purchase both editions of Minecraft in one purchase. This means that you'll only have one vanilla version of Minecraft on Windows now. It's not a problem about it if you already own Java or Bedrock editions. Mojang says that all players who have either Java Edition or Bedrock Edition will receive the edition they don't currently own , for free, directly in the Minecraft Launcher. However, it could take up to three working days to show up.

Jave and Bedrock will remain their own games with a variety of features. There are no changes to the features. The only difference is that you'll end up receiving both when buying Minecraft on your Windows PC Both versions are in the same launcher.

As a reminder, while Java is exclusive to PC, Mac and Linux systems, the Bedrock Edition is available on PC as well as mobile (Android, iOS, Windows 10 mobile ), and on various consoles like Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and many more. Minecraft crafting is the most flexible version of Minecraft on PC however it does not allow cross-platform play. Also, the Java Edition has a higher performance limit and tends to look better on higher-end gaming PCs as opposed to the Bedrock Edition is designed to play more smoothly and has shorter loading times.
