Pastor Chris Oyakhilome was the first child born to the family of Oyakhilome, and was born December 7, 1973 to Tim Oyakhilome. Following his primary and secondary education, he went to Ambrose Alli University in Ekpoma (Edo State), Nigeria, where he received a BSc. in Architecture.

AAU also granted the honourary Doctor of Science prize. He also holds an honorary degree in divinity from Benson Idahosa University. Reverend Chris was once married to Anita Obhodaghe, and they have two children.

YFC grew rapidly and was the largest campus fellowship. In 1989, Pastor Chris established Believers LoveWorld Incorporated (BLW), alongside Christ Embassy. Lagos is home to the headquarters of the church. Believer's LoveWorld is a worldwide ministry with millions of associates worldwide.
